Development & Communications Intern

The Emerge Center

August 2017 - present

Working alongside the Fund Development team at this incredible nonprofit school is an exciting and fulfilling role. I design sharable social media graphics, write content for fundraising campaigns and create on-brand marketing materials for meetings, events and presentations. I also create videos and marketing emails that aim to inspire empathy and charitable giving. Working for a nonprofit has taught me the importance of fostering and maintaining community partnerships.

Communications Intern

The Tatman Group

May 2017 - August 2017

My experience at this association management firm enhanced my professionalism and attention to detail. I created quarterly newsletters, press releases, and assisted in daily content creation for various state-level associations. I handled aspects of large-scale convention planning and online registration efforts, and accompanied the full-time staff in event management tasks!

Orientation Leader

Experience LSU

March 2016 - August 2016

Orienting 5,000+ incoming students alongside a team of 24 student leaders made for a summer of growth and connection. My main role was to present crucial university information in an engaging way and cultivate relationships with new students. As Communications Chair of my team, I managed social media content on University accounts and filmed a welcome video shown to all orientation guests.

Website Design &
Media Coordinator

Silver Point Development

May 2017 - present

Coordinating the advertising efforts for a residential development property was a steep learning curve for me. I designed a property website, made a Facebook page and created marketing materials for distribution in the property office. Having a digital presence has made a huge difference in selling the lots, and that made the creative challenges worth it.

Technology Assistant Director

LSU Dance Marathon

March 2016 - December 2016

Creating impactful promo-style videos for Dance Marathon's social media platforms was a thrilling job. My favorite part of this position was interacting with the Miracle Children that the organization was raising money for! I worked with 15 other directors to ensure my video content was sharable, impactful, and unique. Being intentional with my visuals and music paid off; in total, these videos brought 15,000+ original viewers to their pages.

Graphic Design Assistant

The Deltree

July 2017 - August 2017

I assisted The Deltree in creating digital mood boards for a presentation to MD Anderson Cancer Center. The mood boards depict a series of online worlds that teach teens about the effects of using tobacco. Working with this New Orleans based production company strengthened my graphics skills, attention to detail, and professional communication.

Presenter & Researcher

Southern Regional Orientation Workshop

October 2016 - March 2017

Representing LSU at SROW 2017 alongside a team of student ambassadors was such an honor. In preparation, I surveyed universities nationwide to gather research on orientation leader training. With a small team, I presented this information to student affairs students and professionals. This experienced made me a more dynamic public speaker, and enhanced my collaboration and dancing skills!

Small Group Leader

STRIPES

Summer 2015 & 2016

As a Small Group Leader, I lead and facilitated a small group of incoming students to help make their college transition positive. Making connections and encouraging them to get involved on campus was beyond fulfilling. STRIPES brought me out of my comfort zone and the ever-changing schedule taught me the art of adaptation. My favorite part of STRIPES was discussing diversity with my small group and witnessing nothing but respect.

Special Programs Chair

LSU Ambassadors

September 2015 - April 2016

While serving as the primary volunteer coordinator for a 250+ member student organization, my servant leadership was challenged and strengthened. This position demanded organization, time management and a strong investment in community service. My favorite part of this position was connecting with local organizations and engaging my peers to better their community.
